Fairest

I saw this one in the book order months ago. It caught my eye because it was the newest book by Gail Carson Levine – author of Ella Enchanted and The Two Princesses of Bamarre. I liked Ella (different than Just Ella which I have heard was terrible) and loved Bamarre, so I was excited to read this one. I must admit, it wasn’t as good as Bamarre, but it was a great story.

It takes place at the same time as Ella Enchanted and the main character in this story is the older sister of Ella’s best friend Areida. She’s definitely not the “fairest” in the land, so when a magic mirror falls into her hands that shows her how she could be “beautiful,” things go all wrong.

It had a great message about love and self worth and was genuinely fun to read. If you haven’t caught the other two listed above, read those also since they are feel good, fun to read books with a dash of good clean romance thrown in.
